HIdy... Long story short... About a week ago, I ended up having the transfer case replaced on my 96 xlt with 182,000+ miles... I haven't had any other transmission work done...
When I got the truck home, I crawled under it see what my $$$$'s just bought me and noticed an oil leak that I haven't scene before... It is a small leak... I actually haven't noticed anything on the garage floor yet... but I also crawl up under there and wipe it up when I get home to keep it from hitting the floor...
It looks like it could be the rear main seal because it looks like it is right on the edge between the oil pan and the bell housing... I haven't been back to the shop yet either due to time...
I guess my question is... when a transfer case is replaced, does the transmission also have to come out and somewhere during all this the rear main seal got screwed up?
