94 mazda navajo 5 spd
hey I have a 1994 mazda navajo 5 spd 4x4. I put a peace of hose on the shift motor were the old bumber stop was and my brother got the truck to go into 4low, but the light on the dash didn't come on and now I can't get it out of 4low.. Can ya help me. I mean I don't even now how to put it in 4low or 4high or take it out of eather lol...:navajo::roll:

I believe it has to be in neutral to come out of 4LO.
 






i did everything man i can not get it out....
 






well i got it out of 4l now its in 4h and when i went to back up it started to back up and then u heard a clunk nosie and now all revers will do is grind when u lt the clutch out ... srry for no caps and run ons and all im not in a good mood
 






If you are "stuck", pull the shift motor and shift it by hand. That will at least get you back on the road..

It sounds like you tried to rebuild the shift motor, or at least replace that broken part with a piece of hose. Did you clean up the rest of the motor so it will spin like it should? Mine was full of caked grease mixed with dirt.. Once I cleaned it up things started working.. That was a few years ago, its still still going strong.

some times a few whacks with a hammer (or tow hitch reciever :P) will get it turning again.

But thats my answer for everythng.
 






Hey guys yes I got it out of 4l. I had to turn it by hand when I first tryed to do it by hand I was turning it the wrong why and end up twisting the triangle rod.. So I then turned it the other way and it poped right into 2h.. So now I can't put the gear back on until I figure out how to strightend the rod back out... My revers still works juss doesn't work in 4h and I don't know why that is... You put it in gear and all it does is grind or spin... And when I put the stop bumber on it I didn't clean eveything on it cause I couldnt get the brown wire to come off...
 






I thought that if the motor couldn't read the postion, it defaulted to 2 HI, I wonder if you've had the proper alignment for the transfercase and shift motor.
