anyone ever swap in a t5 for the 4r70w in a 5.0 ex/mounty? not sure if its practical, but i hate automatics, and have an extra t5 from a mustang lying around. i know the ex's dont come with a 5 spd 5.0 but im assuming my mounty probably has all the holes in the firewall and such that a 5 spd ex would have.

I'm sure it can be done, but its a 2wd tranny. They made a good medium duty transmission behind the 5.0's in F250's called a ZF5. They have been swapping them over in full size Broncos for a while now.

Yea, you would need some bulletproof internals inside that T-5 to hold up in an Ex attached to a 5.0
