tach guage problem

my tachometer guage is stuck on 3000 even when the engine is not running and the key in the ON position what should i do to fix this? help

Sounds like the needle got stuck on something. See if you can get in with a wire and push it down. If that doesn't work (it probably won't) then get a new gauge cluster from the junk yard. Won't cost much at all.
