tach on '92 Exp sometimes works sometimes not .... stays around 3500 when not working ..... ????

yeah my car has the same exact problem it dosnt work at all just stays at 3500 rpm and moves up sometimes when i get passed 3500 but then stops at 4000 dosnt move even when shifts i have no clue what the problem is it sucks
