Tried to search - but couldn't find what I was looking for.

So I just had my '06 to the dealer for an issue with the tranny not wanting to shift out of first all the time. There was a hairline crack in the radiator, and the tranny had gone into "safe mode". Replaced the radiator, reflashed the tranny and all is good right? Wrong.

While in the shop, and waiting for the radiator to come in, tech calls and says the right rear brake light is out. It's only an extra $50 - do you want us to fix it? I figure 50 bones to replace a bulb is ridiculous and tell them not to bother, I'll do it myself. Here's where I need some help.

If I turn the lights on, the bulb will light, however if you press the brake pedal or turn on the turn signal it goes out and/or won't blink.

Should I be looking at a fuse / relay or do I need a new bulb?

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks in advance,
-Thor

check the bulb first always check the bulb the if the fuse was blown you wouldn't have any lights in the rear at all and if it was a relay neither of them will work if you replace the rear bulb and it dose not work check the front for possible damage. if that dose not fix it id say you are chasing a ground some where. but try that rear bulb first i bet the problem is in there or at least a good clue (like water).

Okay,

I sorta figured it was the bulb. If it's not too much trouble, I'll try and pull the good one and test it on that side.

Are these some kind of whiz bang bulb with dual filaments or something? New to me if they are.

they are dual filaments but there not new its just when one part of a dual filament bulb goes out it can accidently ground the other good filament and it makes them act very weird.

try spiderlites theyre led's 10X as bright and last forever! but might need load resistors though because of the low power current led's produce, the explorer will think a bulb is blown
