Take a look at my sexy rear end!!!

Thanks for the tip. I'll have them do that once I get a refill after the break in period.

I just ordered 4 quarts of the Series 2000 75W-140 from Amsoil. They say I could get up to 4.8% improvement in milage. We'll see.

Hey Doc nice rear!

That cover looks nice.
Hey Doc do you have any pics of your SOA? Im interested in your shock mounting location since you kept the rear sway bars. Did you use stock length shocks? Any problems with your rear set up? If you posted this someplace else can you point me to it.

Thanks

Here is the link to my thread with all the pics. Let me know if you wnat more, I can take them and post them easy.

OK. That's what I thought.

BTW... that looks very slick

Awesome rig. But I have one question; what is the ride like with only the mono spring? Is it really soft or fairly decent? The reason I ask is because I plan on doing a spring over soon and only leaving two springs. But I want to make sure it won't be too soft before I go about doing it. Thanks, Kyle.

Well, the mono-leaf on the Sport is much different than an induvidual leaf on the 4-door. The mono-leaf is a progressive spring that gets stiffer the more it flexes. It was designed to work alone. It's totally different than the regular leaf pack. If I were you, I'd leave the pack whole, and not remove any springs. I think it would definitely be too soft. It would probably sag too.

The method behind leaving just two springs was to lower the back end after the lift. I'm only going to have about 3.5 to 4 inches of lift in the front and I don't want the rear a lot higher.

I only had 3" of lift in the front, and it ended up being even. The rear end of pretty much all Explorers tends to sag abit. Couldn't you just use the torsion bars to raise it up a bit in the front?

Never mind, just saw you have a '91. Can't twiat the torsion bars if you don't have any...

Anyhow, Mine ended up being level even without doing a torsion twist. I could probably get another 1.5-2" from that.

Thanks for the info. I'm thinking about making some shackles that are shorter than stock as well. I would rather have a little sag in the rear than a drooping front end. I kinda like the Baja look.
