Hello from the uk
I need help
Whilst doing the chains etc on the front of my 98 4.0 SOHC
i found that a previous owner had bodged the oil tensioner on the R/H head. Having cleaned out the thread with a pick and found the washer in the valley i worked in the new tensioner but it has gone in slightly angled. This has left a leak!!
So my plan is to try to retap the threads straight by hand.
Has anyone had to do this and know the size of tap required?
Is it UNC or UCF or metric?
I've not done any type of proper engineering b4 so unsure of how to find out. My experience is of changing parts like for like and dealing with the odd stuck bolt.
Any help would be much appretiated
