after miles upon miles or daily driving at 5 psi and some greddy pulls that pushed the needle on the gauge to the 16-17 psi area. I have been losing water but even before the turbo install. I found my problem well after losing more and more water i tore it down its just a bad HG the heads were fine. The HG was mostly intact it just had a hailine crack from the water jacket at the back of #6. Now to clean it up and get it back together with a fmu. For now Im keepin gthe boost turned down until i get a AEM UEGO and a MS II jacked in.

Hmmm, that's quite a bit of rust you have there. How long was the engine sitting? I suppose you could clean it up with some emery cloth and try to make your scratches like cross hatch honing marks. Maybe put something like grease around the top of the piston to keep the crud from falling in around the rings...

Keep us posted with your progress.

the rust came off easy with penetrating oil and Ill take a scotch pad to it

are you sure the heads are not cracked between the valve seats? Every chamber in my old 92 heads were cracked except one when I had them magnafluxed, then I bought the later model OHV heads used. Im sure when the same shop tested them before they were not aware of all the points where the heads crack and it used about a cup of coolant every few months, nothing now.

the only cylinder that was getting wet was #6 i found the culprit. I havent had them magnafluxed however with a look over the heads are in pretty good shape. Im just going to clean them up and throw it back together. My last set of heads cracked so bad the middle CCs were sideways and valves were cracked, cracked between the seats......

There ussually always cracked between the valve seats however im suprised there not

thats some pretty nasty rust supprised to hear it cleaned out so easy with penetrating oil and scotch brite... ive never gotten that lucky....

and of course no more guttsy high pressure pulls. Im just going to keep the boost down to 5psi

the heads are on i just have to bolt the rest back together

Hey Bud - I have a gt40 supercar pump if that'll help you get going. I believe this is a return style pump - not sure what fuel system you have.

you're kidding right? It'll just flood out

There only 3lbss difference and Jakee Im not sure if the GT pump would work Id have to look into that. It is the return style. I thought the GT supercar was a non return style as alot of the newer mustangs run the GT pump for more fuel as they are returnless. WHen i get around to it I was going to just drop in a 255lp? However Im not into blowing anymore cash on the setup right now. if i do blow a few more dollar i need a wideband O2. The AEM UEGOs go for around 200 on egay. The truck runs fine at 5 psi so im just going to keep the boost turned down and see how it runs with the 21#. What cash i can blow on mods right now Im upgrading the kit on my Cougar

That thing sounds wicked, all that turbo spool-up it sounds like a powerstroke.

Its fun to drive. its a 281ci 4.6L 2V out of a 01 Mustang GT with the still stock 4r70w with a small turbo. Im converting it too twins and alot of more work will be done on the car soon;rebuilding suspesion, interior, windshield replacement, body, brakes...\

Thats also why the truck is going back on the road now because that car is not the greates tin the rain. Its kinda scary the boost comes on quick and it will try to throw its ass end where it wants to go.

All slapped back together runs pretty good heres a video i had about 50-75% throttle into it shifting early
