My temp gauge is not working so to know whether I needed to replace the gauge or the sensor, as per a friends advise, I unplugged the wire to the sensor unit, touched it to the motor block , turned the key on and the gauge moved( it usually sits on "cold") According to him this indicated the gauge was ok but that I needed to replace the sensor unit.
I invested 4$ on the sensor unit, replace it and the gauge still does not work. However, I notice that when it is very hot outside, and I have been stuck in traffic and the water hos gotten very hot, the gauge then moves about a fourth of the way. Can anyone please advise me as to what is going on here. Since I have slow radiator leak, I need to have it working, especially until I fix the radiator. Thanks guy from a Explorer grrl!!
