I have another issue. I asked my dealer about last time but he didn't get to it yet. I notice my temp gauge would start at normal temp (20%f to 30%f)then go to around 70%f. Yesterday we got hit with a snow/ice storm. I let the truck run a little while. I got in and noticed the temp read normal around 22%f. I sat and had to make a few calls. So far about 20 minutes has elapsed and the temp still reads correct. I put it into drive within 3 or 4 minutes the temp starts to rise. Within 10 minutes it was right up to 72%f. I got to the market put it in park and sat for a little bit with the engine on. The temp started to drop. Does anyone have any idea what is going on? How would I find the sensor to see if it's loose or touching something?

check the coolant level in reservoir, and motor (when cold).

the fan clutch may not work, or electric fan may not work if it has one.

thermostat problem?

I don't have a service manual to tell you where to look for the temp. sensor, there's probably 2 - one for the ECU, and one for the guage.

if the sensor wiring is loose it won't provide consistent predictable high readings (gets hot when driving, cools off when not driving). if the wire is shorted it should justs stay at one temp. Your symptoms indicate a problem with the cooling system most likely.

edit: I've assumed it's the engine cooling system, but you may be talking about cabin temperature control, I don't think in deg. Farenheit.
