When replacing the surpentine belt tensioner pulley on a 4.0, does the whole tensioner mounting need to be removed? It's a '94 with 108k.

yea, its just 1 bolt that holds on the piece... i just had to replace mine- its really easy. but id suggest having someone who knows what they're doing help you because thats not something you want to mess up

U mean 1 bolt holding the pulley on. If so, I don't think I can screw that up. Even if I have to pull the alternator mounting off ...I always do my own work.

Yes its just one bolt holding it on. You should be able to get to the bolt without taking anything else off. Just like you have to use that lever to decrease the tension to change the belt, a rathet will fit in there.

if I have a hard time pulling the tensioner back to replace the belt, the tensioner is probably ok, right?
