Test Light

I recently purchased an 2005 XLT. The "Test" light/gauge has been coming on when I start the car. This is the light area where the miles, direction, or temperature is usually displayed.

Does anyone know why the "Test" light would start coming on? Or how to get it to stop?

I thought the "Test" mode was for the dealer to diagnose the car's computer.

might be an indication the battery is getting weak.

I think you're right. I got a new battery and the "Test" light has stopped appearing.
