Do you test all ford TPS sensors the same way? I have tested a few on the mustangs, do the same specs and such apply?

If you are refering to testing the resistance of the sensor (as you cycle it ), yes that is how they are tested.

Sorry this isn't an answer to your question, but I've got a question about this myself:

I did a KOEO scan on my wife's '91 Eddie Bauer 4.0 OHV, and it returned a 63 -- TPS voltage too low or grounded. I've got the Haynes manual, but I'm a little unclear on the test procedure. Can either of you offer any tips? Any particular test equipment recommendations?

Thanks,

Thanks for the link, Mark. It's helpful. Another question, if you don't mind:

What's the best way to access the leads on the TPS connector? The probes on my multi-tester are too fat to get in there. I've been looking around for skinnier ones, but so far no luck. I've seen the type of probes that puncture the insulation. Are those okay to use? I don't care if I hurt the sensor (they're only around $25), but I don't want to screw up the wiring.

Sorry if this a bush league question, but I don't have much experience with testing sensors (obviously).

Thanks again,

--Steve
