If I hadn't read it here, I wouldn't have tried it. In desperate searches for getting better mileage I tried a different brand. (I think it was Steven) Anyway, I tried Texaco this last fill-up and am amazed at the difference in mileage. Before the mods, I was getting 330/tank, after I'd get about 270/tank. After this fill-up I got 320/tank. The speedo is still off, but 50 mpg more is a very good gain for just using better gas. It was $0.06 more per gallon than the cheaper stations, but I think you'll agree, well worth it. :bounce:

I think Texaco has a mantra, something like "get that fifth tank feeling." So far I'm on my 3rd and haven't noticed a mileage difference at all. But I do think it runs better. I think I haven't noticed the better mileage because of the way I've been driving, A/C full blast, several passengers, stop & go traffic. Also, it's my unproven theory that gas with 15% ether added to it absolutely sucks. I don't understand how it helps the air quality if I have to use more gas to go the same distance. Nevertheless, I'm still going to put Texaco gas in. It may be psychological but I think it helps my engine.

Personally, I use both QuikTrip (when in Atlanta) and Exxon or Citgo (when in Auburn). QT's cheap, efficient, and they have great cappucino.

i use pump and SAVE gas....hehe, cheapest gas in town and the splorer seems to like it fine :exp: ;)
