Texas Lost High Way Route 87

I'm a maybe...Gonna try and get my rear out of work early and get my truck over to the shop for an alignment, and other junk. Just don't have the time to do the work myself, what a shame. Better start making a list so it all gets done.

This looks awesome! If there is any way in hell I can make the 1200 mile trip I am in... My B-day is December 11th, so I might be able to swing it.

Update!!!

Ok folks we're less than 2 weeks away, and I'm goin to now inform you all of the meeting times and place:

We will meet on Seawall Blvd.across the street in front of the San Luis Hotel, 5222 Seawall Blvd, Galveston, 77551, Between 2pm and 4pm Friday the 9th.
You will see us parked along the Seawall as you drive down it.

This is an old Fort Installation that housed two 12" guns, and is now a beautiful hotel.

To get to this location the easiest, is coming down I-45 south, take the 61st Street exit.

Take 61st street to the end which is Sea Wall Blvd. and turn left going east.

The Hotel will be a few miles down Sea Wall Blvd. on the left with the coast on your right, we will be parked on the right (coast side) accross the street from the San Luis Hotel 5222 Seawall Blvd.

These maps are for your help, the star in this first map indicates the San Luis Hotel location:

This map indicates the route we'll be taking in and out of Galveston, Red indicates the inbound route to the meeting spot and orange indicates the route off the island to the ferry and on to Bolivar Island:

Johnstone has thrown the idea out that we will travel the beach front as far as we can go heading towards the Lost Highway, which will throw a nice twist into the trip.

I will need everyone who is going on the trip to please "PM" me your cell phone numbers so I may aleart you of any changes that may happen in case of an emergency before the meeting spot, these phone numbers will not be made public!, I will also send you my own cell number so you may get intouch with us incase you also have a change of plans or emergency.

Those of you whom are trailering your rig to run with us, it might be a good idea now to make your reservations NOW so that you will have a safe/known place to park your vehicles for the weekend while wheeling/camping.

You WILL NOT be staying here for the evening, this is only for safe parking of your tow rigs and trailers from Dec. 9th -11th.

Still Ready? Yep!

OK, Just bought 2 new tires for the trip. Didn't think 35" slicks were going to be of much help. 1 of the tires replaced was the last remaining tire from my Explorer. This tire had been to MOAB, Colorado, Slabs, and Gilmer. HAted to see it go.

Now to get a new CB antenna and see if either of my 2 CB's still work. Also, digging out all the old recovery gear.

Ready for fun.

Rob

Just got off the phone with Doug, and told him about this trip, since he's less than 2 hours from the meeting spot in Gaveston.

He said him and a friend are going to try and make if, told him to keep me posted.

I wonder if his friend he is talking about is the Beer Looter guy??
