Anyone have any experience with these? any chance of this being compatiable with explorers? Only reason i'm asking is i've got someone wanting to trade me one.

what year Explorer did you want to try and put it in? You can probably manage an adapter, but the electronics on 4R55 and 5R55 trannies won't work at all. All in all a major headache in the full on electronic transmission equipped 2nd gens. Not worth the effort IMHO.

My 97 would be what i'd put it in. I don't have any electronics anymore. I put a manual in several years ago and then i put in the correct computer. What do you think, would it be worth it? I don't know anything about that tranny, are they floor shift?

The TH400 never came in a 60° version, it was mostly put behind BBCs and 6.2, 6.5L Detroit Diesels. Unfortunately if you plan on putting it behind a V6 it won't fit without cutting off the 90° bellhousing and replacing it with a 60° bellhousing and welding it on.

Sounds like a little more then i'd like to get into. Like i said i was just curious since someone wanted to trade it to me. I think i'll just settle for cash :D
