Thanks to everyone here who had knowledge of replacing a thermostat housing on a 2000 4.0 SOHC. I got mine done yesterday with the help of my bro-in-law and it took about 3.5 hours from start to finish. We were able to do it without removing the upper intake but it was a PITA! The trick was to remove the crank sensor connector and the bracket holding it to the block.

Unfortunately I did not think about photos until after we were almost done as we were fighting light sprinkles all day with 40 degree temps.

Very true- hard to trumpet the "search!" thing when a lot of threads don't come to completion. :)

ucluglee- if there is a thread on the process, you might add your tip in there if it isn't in the post already... :thumbsup:
