Had a massive coolant leak last night. I thought for sure it had to be a hose... You know, where else are you going to find a hole that big? I checked all the hoses, and they were all good. So I put some water in it and fired it up. Ah! There it is! Right at the top of the water pump. Good thing my pump was still under warranty. After replacing it, I fired it back up. What the hell?! Still dumping! Turns out it was the thermostat neck. Damn thing had a pea sized hole rusted in the bottom of it. Cheap and easy fix, but it sure was difficult to find.

Oh, after all the work of a coolant pump!!! At least the replacement neck is easy to get to! Did you put a new thermostat too?

Nah, I had just replaced the thermostat a few months ago. At least I got a (slightly) newer pump... And a day off work out of the deal! Lol.

TR, you wouldn't be able to post a pic of where yours was leaking from? I replaced my pump and thermostat as mine had a heavy stream from near the pump and the pump was wet. Got it all put back and still a stream but noticed it was coming from somewhere above the pump but I can only see it running down the block cant find the source. Thanks.
