The BEST MOD EVER and who's using it??

Leenjen,

Thanks for reading the original post regarding the break in period. I've heard that seating takes place within 50 to 100 miles and that it shouldn't matter what oil as long as you change b/n 500-1000 miles to clear the shavings and particles from the oil. Does anyone else have good info on this??

The fact that Amsoil is a quality oil, and has the balls to state their faith like that is what convinced me to give them a try over other syth oils.

See, if I was thinking about getting synthetic oil, and I went to that page and saw the Jesus section, it would have set the company back in my mind. It would've taken more convincing for me to buy the product. When I go to an oil website, I want to learn about oil. I don't want to learn about someone's religious beliefs.

I agree. Religious beliefs should not have anything to do with buying an oil filtration setup. However, I think we should stick to the topic. I'd like to know more about this thing and see if it really works. Does anyone actually have it?

The only thing I don't like about the explination on that page is that it's very generic. It says "it's mounted in the most conveinent place" or something like that...What if it's not? What if that's only on MOST of the applications? I think they're just trying to sell you a "wonder mod" instead of something to actually help your truck in performance. That's why I said earlier it sounds "infomercial-ish". But hey, I love our Foreman Grill, so maybe it does work :D

What is it exactly... I sounds like a 2 stage filter, with one being a super-fine filter. Hmmm... I dunno. I dont see why this would help. Filters and oil have only gotten better over the years... and cars last freakin forever as it is now. If it aint broke, dont fix it.

I am already planning to buy synthetic fluids for my differentials and transfer case, possibly power steering also. Tranny is already Mercon V (synthetic) so doesn't matter, and engine oil I change to often to justify.

The fact that the company has a strong belief in God and Christianity puts me over the top on which brand to choose. When you're planning on buying a product, and many companies make basically the exact same product you're looking for, don't you choose the company who thinks like you do?

Sometimes it's hard to "discover" what each company truly stands for. After all, they are a profit based business. On the same note. the fact that Amsoil uses distributors and not OTC sales makes me feel that they put an emphasis on customer service and long term relationships with them. However, I have seen their ATF at Murray's Auto.

Nevertheless, I agree with the Christian statement and still feel that the bypass oil filter is worth the investment.

Is anyone using the dual filter set up?

Thoughts......

This is the set up......

Do all of you that run synthetic motor oil have high mileage engines? If so, thats bad. Synthetic is not as viscous as non-synthetic oil, therefore it does not provide as great of a seal as non-synthetic.....There are more gouges in a cylinder wall as it ages....synthetic does not cover these as well. Just something to think about.

...and the debate continues...
