The BIG mpg race

out of ford, the car was built with a 3.55 rear end. unless someone changed it. the v8 is 3.55 diff.

i even checked by vin you supplied.

ok I dont know more then the axle code say and is say D4 and someone her posted axel code list and there D4 stand for 3.73...

the 02 vin that is posted is 3.55

the 04 4.0l is 3.73.

dunno who is whos i could of mixed that up but in any case, the v8 2002 vin posted up is 3.55. in which case it will beat the 4.0L in gas.

its 140lbs lighter the 02 then the 04 and has 3.55.

maybe i miss read it, but the 2 vin posted were for an 02 v8 and a 04 v6.

in any case, same driver, not driving with a led foot, the v8 will win still.

i think this thread is pretty much dead but was wondering if anyone else played with the computer while driving.

if you driving and on the onboard computer where it shows your mpg push reset and watch how drastic the number changes while your driving. Its really funny to see how much it varies. say if my system reads 17mpg from driving around town and im on the highway doing 60-65 and push the reset button the number will double then slow decline till it gets to about 23-25mpg if i do it in town in stop an go traffic it indicates like 10mpg, and if your going down a hill and let off the gas it shows something crazy like 35-45mpg hahah if i reset while im driving around town it will show that i get poor gas mileage for awhile, when u first hit reset the number bounces all around but after a couple miles starts to level out and not change as much. If this system is any where close to being accurate which i doubt it is it shows that i get about 7mpg when i give it all shes got
