The cruise control doesn't work in my 1993 Explorer.

i got a 93 eddie bauer and the crusie wont turn on. i have checked all the fuses that i can find for this.and they are all good.can anyone point me in the next direction i should take anything will be of great help. t.y

Before you spend an arm and a leg, try replacing the rear center high tail light, with the correct bulbs. This fixed my cruise control problem, and i have a 1993 ford explorer xlt. Hopefully this is the simple cure.
 






^^^ that's the most bizzare sounding fix ever. however, i agree that a burnt out rear taillight would = infinite resistance in the brake light circuit potentially "turning off" the cruise control (same as pressing the brake pedal does)

other than that, i don't have any suggestions. you can have the cruist control module out of my '93 if you like.. it works great but i never use it.
