The dirtiest air filter

Just bought a Ford Escape for a family member in good condition, and was tinkering around checking under the hood, checking underneath, and a clean up.
Wanted to see if anyone has ever seen an air filter this dirty before? WOW!

Too bad it’s not a K&N. They just work better when filthy. Might get reasonable filtration out of one if it were that dirty.

At least it looks like a good puralator blue filter. I bet that the intake is spotless after the filter.

Agreed with above comment about the k&n. They don't filter for crap.
