Some of you may have read my frustrating posts about the front end roar and how nothing I did fixed it.well today,I fixed it accidentally by fixing a different problem.I had replaced wheel bearings and both lower ball joints but only one of the upper ball joints because the other one didnt seem to be that bad.I decided to go ahead and replace the other drivers side today. When I got it off i could tell that it was in worse shape than I thought and was letting the wheel sit at a slight angle.i replace it took it for a drive and my Ex is so quiet that its almost unbelievable.Im ecstatic.i thought for sure that it was the front diff but I was going to drive it until something went bad to let me know for sure.Luckily it just turned out to be replacing all four ball joints.I could have figured this out months ago if I would have went ahead and did all four instead of three.

my pleasure.i know that this wont fix everyones problem but maybe there is someone out there like me who has tried everything except the one thing that works.

Biggiesize, did your front end roar get worse when you accelerated at speeds over 40ish or was it a constant roar? My 2000 ex roars louder the faster I go but when I let off the throttle it is not as bad. I have replaced both wheel bearings, lower ball joints and one axle shaft. Next is carrier bearings!

Mine would roar constantly but it did get worse at higher speeds.I thought for sure that it was the front diff but after I replaced the last upper ball joint,it is as quiet as a new one.

If you've replaced all that and you say it doesn't do it as bad off throttle then I would pin point the diff since your truck is an awd unit.
