The "I can't wait" thread

There are people still waiting to get one? The Ford dealer a couple miles from here has like 20 in stock and ready to drive away. lol.....

I had a choice of eight locally when I ordered.

None had what I wanted without having more than I wanted to pay for. For the money, don't you think getting it exactly how you want it is reasonable?

I noticed some of our local dealers have Ex's in stock, most with Dec and even November build dates, really early cars. I'm happy mine will be built after a few more roll off the line. Maybe that doesn't matter but makes me feel better.

I think it does, esandye. I can tell a difference between mine and several of the management lease vehicles we have on our campus. Their VINS are 2000's and 3000's. Mine is in the 24,000's.

Yeah scott posted the small (but important) differences between his companies 2011 Fleet Explorers and his personal one (as he mentions) that have been fixed on newer models. The A-pillar noise at highway speeds alone would drive me crazy. I can deal with MFT issues, but not that :)

Can't tell you how relieved I was the first time I took mine on the highway, Edge. It would have been a complete buzz-kill had that rattle started!

Scott, Glad to see your enjoying the new ride....My wife and I plan on ordering Saturday as soon as i can get her out of bed. Im also in the Nashville area, where did you order from...I have been to Two Rivers in Mount Juliet, Crown Ford and Bates Ford in Lebanon just to get and idea of what we wanted in our ride....I was wondering if you had a recommendation. We are trading in a Jeep and buying on Z plan, so my thinking is to go with whoever quotes me the best value on my Jeep. I called Two Rivers yesterday to let them know i would be in to order and they told me to run my jeep to carmax so they could appraise it for me! WTF?? Needless to say i was not happy with the salesmen request...I'm thinking about going to Bates. Your thoughts?

BoTinc:
I would run an honest KBB check and email local dealers saying "My Jeep is worth a minimum of X on trade. I would like Y."

Take control and pick the number you want for the Jeep and go from there. It's doubtful a dealer will think it is worth more than you do, so tell them your starting point.

BoTinc - I PM'd you with a contact at Two Rivers where I bought. That saleman needs to be fired as that is not their general philosophy. I did pretty much what Uniquename recommended and they were good to me on it.

Will do thanks for the info. I have a KBB on it and I was thinking of doing exactly what was suggested. Hopefully I can get a good middle value on the KBB and put an order in! The wait is going to kill me!

Ordered one on 1/30

I just got my VIN from my salesman and am getting a little more excited. I'm not sure of the build date but delivery is supposed to be around 3/14. It would have to be bulding the end of Feb to make that date. I got a limited in Bourdeux. I didn't want a White or Silver which seem to be the only colors right now in the area and also didn't care much about the sunroof.

How is the Sync and MFT working for all that have gotten theirs? I have heard there are some bugs but hopefully it is nothing too big.

Seems like it wont be here soon enough.

It was totally surreal after I synced my phone last night, I didn't have to plug in anything and sync knew everything on my phone!! So far the truck is a little overwhelming in a good way, we sat in every luxury vehicle at the car show and this Ex blows them all away!!

Troy & Carol!!

Congrats on the new ride!!

Hi all, I'm another new member, but have been reading all the '11 Ex posts for a while now. My current delivery date for my XLT is 14 Feb (pushed back from 07 Feb-I can only imagine what our vehicles looked like sitting in Chicago with 20" of snow on them). This will be my fourth Ex I've owned through the years. I'm very anxious, as most everyone is, to experience all that has been talked about. I'm slightly concerned about MFT, but trust Ford will support any issues related to it. As a former auto guy who worked with Ford for 11 years (including the Ex), I hope Ford hits a home run with this and many other newly launched (or soon to be launched) vehicles.

WingsfaninNC,

Thanks for your loyal support!

Seni,

Do you know by chance a delivery time range from Chicago to Minneapolis (suburbs)? I have a "ten day delivery estimate" now. My Explorer was done Wednesday and we are due for Snow Monday, I want to test it out :D

Also, for a short distance like that, do you know if it is rail or truck?

Hey Buddy, (that's my uniquename for you! lol)

Unfortunately, there is no way for me to get that information! I wish I could tell you because I'd love to test out travel theories as well! If you send me your VIN through PM, I can look it up for you and see if it's travelling by rail or truck. :)

Enjoy the rest of your Wednesday!

Thanks Seni, we love it!!

Hey Pug, we have the Bordeaux and we love it! The MFT and sync are great for the most part, with some minor issues here and there. Even with the couple issues, we absolutely love this EX. More than we expected for the most part :)

We too are awaiting our new 11 XLT. We have some consolation in owning a 2011 Edge Sport with MFT. So my wife has been able to practice and get to know where everything is and how it all works. It doesn't make the anticipation any less though.

We got our VIN number today (original order placed on 1/17)! Our EX is anticipated to be build the week of 3/14! Now I can relax for 2 weeks or so before I start stressing the delivery date.

Hey token, I got the same build week as you although I ordered 12-30. The plant is cranking them out pretty fast now. My last 5 digits of the VIN are in the 42000's. Does anyone out there know how many ex's are being built a day now?

Ordered mine Dec. 20th, received the VIN end of Jan. and shortly thereafter the Build Date of Feb. 20th. Seni then advised it is to come off the line on Feb. 24th. According to the VIN my Production Number was 28570. Last word (Fri) on delivery ETA was still Feb. 28th but I sort of doubt that given all the posts I've read regarding delays in shipments.
