UGLY. ugly. I hate it. But i never was a ram fan.

I want to know when they are going to start taking orders. I am up for a new truck this year and I hope mine doesnt get ordered as an '08..

I was never really a RAM fan
this one is alright but the front end looks crappy.

Am I the only one that thought "mustang" as soon as I saw it??? The nose has an odd resemblence to the nose of the mustang.

like it or not. They have put alot of cool stuff in this truck. I like the rear bumper with the dual exhaust. The built in floor cooler, and the storage bins on the sides of the truck bed.

What do you mean? The 08 is way different.

matt so r those coming stock with the dual exhaust or is that optional

Exactly- my new truck is going to be ordered this year and I want them to order me an '09, not an '08

That article is a little deceiving. It says 2009 Dodge Ram but it's only about the Ram 1500s not 2500 or 3500s. Am I the only one that thinks it is 120% pointless to even offer a 3.7L V6 in a full size pick-up? A 4.0L is the bare minimum I would consider going in an Explorer or anything of equivalent size.

hey matt u thinking of getting another ram or what

Ha! I got about 11 grand left to pay off on my current one. I probably won't buy a new truck for another 4 years or so. I can't complain with my current ram. It has been a very good Solid truck.

Liter ratings really mean very little anymore- it's more about what the output is and how it achieves it's rating. If it makes as much or more power as a small V8 and doesn't stress it out doing so, why not a 3.7L?

Aside from that, I like everything but the front end. I like the back better than the Ford, but with the side bins, they've seemingly eliminated the possibility of someone using a tonneau or cap- how would you open them in that application?

I think overall, the Ford is simpler, and seems more purpose based, the Dodge is loaded up with "stuff" to make it noteworthy in the market.

Well because it's not going to produce the output of a small V8. Horsepower numbers are very massaged these days and subjective. You could take the same engine and rate it at 150HP running it at 3000RPM or rate it 250HP running it at almost 6000RPM which is how a lot of engines are rated these days. But people aren't going to be driving around at 6000RPM most of the time. The 235lb/ft of torque is what shows it doesn't have the muscle for a full size truck.

Looks like the same thing they've had for most of the decade:dunno:

Where's the dually? Where is the long bed quad cab? Where is the Cummins?

My next P/U may have to be a Ford.

Those should be out a year later.

I've always been a Ram fan and I really like the look and features of the 2009 model. The only thing I don't like is the fact that it has a car-like center console and gear shifter.

Just looked at this thread again. Dodge is adding some cool options, and that interior looks like it's 1000x better quality than what they're using now. I've been really impressed with the new GM trucks, and it looks like they've raised the bar in that area.

The styling is a departure from the current trends, but makes the current and '09 F-150s look bland by comparison. Remember when the '94 Ram hit the market? Plus, the Dodge 4.7 V8 got an upgrade this year using some design tricks from the Hemi, and now has as much horsepower as Ford's 5.4.

I've been really impressed with the new GM trucks...

Did I really just say that?

I like it allot they stepped it up a notch

It has a 5 link rear suspension with coil springs on the rear end.
which to me is a huge improvement over traditional leaf spring suspension,
ie no axle wrap, and your rear end isn't going to kick out sideways when you hit some stutter bumps while going round a bend.

it has a lot of storage compartments those two bedside boxes will negate any reason to get a box for the bed which allows the bed to be used for loading a quad, gear, tools, bikes with the tailgate closed. a big plus in my opinion

why no photos of the extended cab version.
