The O/D light is blinking on my 95 Explorer.

My OD light has started blinking on my son's 95 Explorer. The on/off switch does not have any effect. This problem occurred about 2 years ago and I wound up getting the trans rebuilt.

Any suggestions?

You need a scanner or a code reader to retrieve the codes. Since the 95 was the last year that they used EEC-IV, you could jump the connector with a wire or a paper clip, and count the flashes of the check engine light. The EEC-IV section has a couple of sticky threads with information on how to read codes, and definitions on what they mean.
