The OFFICIAL H2/H3 hatred/loving whining/praising thread...

I have and Nic is right. They are totally underpowered. It's amazing that they don't have the Duramax or the 492CI big block available for that behemouth. The guy I go to SEMA with every year has an H2 and he admits it's a dog. He can't wait until he can get a supercharger on it. Just $5000 for the "good" one.

In stock configuration he gets 9.8 MPG city and 12.5 hwy. Gotta love it. No power to tow, no power to pass and gas mileage as poor as my old '74 F250 Supercab with a 360:eek:

See Rick, now you ruined my fun LOL ;)

LOL.

Based on those pics Splat could've run those trails with enough go-pedal :D Hell, Gerald almost let me go on that trail last time  See Gerald, an H2 can do it, why not me!?!

Ok, now I'm just being stupid.

Thank you rick

No, I haven't driven nor ridden in the H2. I have heard a few comments and well, I could just tell by looking at the bohemuth that, well, unless it had a 500ci or one ^&*( of a diesel it wouldn't have any towing power. It would have to (and as confirmed by Ric does) take everything it has to ge it's own self going. We had a Minivan (Ford Aerostar) with a 3.0. Man that thing wouldn't get out of it's own way with that heavy of a body. Like I said, I pass by one every day in the Parknig Lot at school. IT IS ALL BODY. No, gound clearance to speak of (I think my Ex has more than it (not 100% sure) Granted I have about a 3½" lift after tires but, my God, the body of my Ex isn't as high as the H2 yet it has equal or more ground clearance (comprable at least) The H2 looks tall because of it's height. But it' doesn't look high to me because I almays look between the wheels first on a vehicle (maybe I am some kind of SUV Perv looking between the legs (wheels)first) but you gotto to know what you are going to get I guess.

Another thing that blows me away about the H2 is that it will only hold as many passengers as an Explorer and seems to have LESS cargo space with the rear seat up. Definately less if you have the spare tire in the truck as they come standard.

Nic, we also had a 3.0 Aerostar, 1987 XLT lol. That thing blew spark plugs clean out when going up grades. My wife got so attatched to it, I had to steal it to trade it in on our first Explorer.

My point was that its always better to experience something for yourself with an open mind instead of simply regurgitating opinions that you've heard other people say. Sort of like an "arm chair test driver" get what I'm saying? Go take one for a spin and try it out for yourself. You never know, you might love it. But you'll never have the experience if you simply rely on the word of others. Its their experience, not yours.

If the H2 is as capable as the H1, how come the military didn't just order Suburbans? I don't believe this at all!

Those trails are not extremely difficult. Throw a 3" BL and 33's on any 4x4 Ex, and you could do them no problems.
I ran all of Fins & Things in 2-Lo (3" BL, IFS, 35's, locked rear), and am pretty sure I could have done the same on Hells Revenge with the exception of optional obstacles. And well. . .I don't see any pictures of them trying obstacles. Ok so, one of them did try Escalator, LOL.

I dont think anyone said they were as capable as the H1. They're not designed to be.

Plus, the H1 is anything but capable unless you're basting around in the desert. The thing is so huge...

thats it.. no more H2 related threads allowed on explorerforum!!! :D

Yea....They all end up exactly the same....And to add, there was an H1 at the tough truck competition in our town...It came in dead last.Even the 1970 2wd toyota beat it.It had to do a 3-point turn at every corner.Everyone cheered it when it first came out and in the second round he got booed.People were even throwing stuff at him!

Yeah really LOL, talk about done to death.

I'm going to create a thread in here like Gerald did for the ricer haters, "H2 Whining Thread" and keep compiling everyone's H2 moaning and groaning to it lol

I'm going to put a Bummer body on my Ex frame :D

Ok... I like the new Hummer H2 SUT much better than the fist model of H2 but that first picture does it no justice at all. Haha Its rather a funny illustration of it...

Yah, what's with the onslaught of ugly cars? The pt cruiser, the aztec, h2, h3 now...there's a lot more, but I try to forget about them... Who is buying these cars?

ok so being a woman means what?

I see H2's everywhere, mostly driven by soccer moms. Every time an H2 comes into the carwash I work at, I ask them if they've taken it off road yet. About 40+ Hummer owners I've talked to, none said they've taken it off road. And about 1/2 of the 40 were women.

Actually....judging from the picture...it's LOOKS (as in styling) are better than the H2 IMHO... but the plastic really screws .... they will never make a Hummer like the H1....look at what they do to Jeeps nowadays..... it's like Walmart and KMart brands of so called quality items.... they copy a design and remake it to what they think the public wants...using material (hence the cheap plastic look alike stuff) ... I look all around me and laugh whenever I see those cheapo plastic skid plates  uh yeah hit that on a rock  :D

The OFFICIAL H2 hatred thread...

Okay folks, seeing that we have on average 1 new H2/H3 bashing thread every 2 weeks and 2-5 postings on the subject a day, I'm going to follow Gerald's lead with the ricer hating postings and create an official "H2/H3 Hatred/loving whining/praising discussion" thread.

Have fun.

H2 owners, WTF...LOL :D

I thought this was a really funny item that I came accross on pirate4x4.com. I guess I don't know what H2 owners will come up with next :D I am sure they didn't want to scrach the grocery getter ;)

If I had > $50k to spend on a vehicle, I would by 2. One for the street and mod one for the trail. How many modifications would $25k buy?

Even after spending all that money on a H2, all you realy have is a modified Surban with a square body, and hot an HUMVEE.

I don't know I'd waste my money on an oversized H2 and mod it for any trail...lol

If I had that money to spend I think I would buy the VW tourege (SP) or the Lexus. But I would be afraid to take it seriously off-roading.
