The Only One?

Every Explorer Ive seen has a rear windshield whiper... But Mine we bought it when it was brand new (1990)... and its really the only one ive ever seen... i was thinking it was because it was one of the 1st ones or cause we used to live in cali?

is there anyone else w/o one too?

My '92 Navajo is without a rear wiper, and I really wish it had one (thinking about adding one from a junkyard Explorer, however). My windows are tinted, so when they get a little dirty from road spray and all that good stuff, it makes it that much more difficult to see out of.

nope it was 91

my 1991 (1990 production) is wiperless, and defrostless...... for the rear window.........

On my '91 XLT I have a rear wiper, and rear defrost.
On my '91 XL I have neither.

OK post up production dates of your trucks so we can see if they added them at some point. I have a 91 with the wiper and defrost. Will put up my production date when I go outside next

I have one on mine and well it does no good...The only thing that it does is scrape snow off when we get enough.

I had a rear wiper on my ex, but I took it off because it would rattle like crazy when the bass from my system would hit. I think it looks alot better without it. I never used it before anyways.

KC7FEQ-- seems like most people complain that the wiper does no good anyways...i dont know if it would be worth it. I mean, mine was made 10 years after yours, and the friggin thing still gets about 10% of the area its supposed to after being replaced twice. If Ford hasnt been able to make a rear wiper that works after all that time, I would be thankful if I didnt have one.

my rear wiper is great. rarely use it for rain but its great for snow.

To my knowledge, they were available on the XLT models, but not the XL models.

My 91xl doesn't have wipers or defroster or any thing else either. Who ever bought it new, didn't get any options beside 4x4.

my '91 XLT had the rear wiper. It usually worked great as long as the wiper was in good condition, but I usually put the better of my two front wipers when I changed the front ones out. I of course chopped it down to size.
