Am I the only one who finds their Explorer seat uncomfortable?

Yes you are the only one.
I lvoe the late model leather seats, so CUMFY!

When I get restless like that, meaning long ass road trip, butt and legs hurt I start over. What I mean is I put the seat all the way down and back, let the air out of the lumbar, etc. Then adjust it all again until it feels right.
the seats are comfortable, I think you need to re-evaluate your sitting position

I didn't realize how uncomfortable the standard seats (cloth covered, XLT) until we went on our first 'long' drive, from here to S. Oregon (9hr drive).

When it came time to build MY Explorer for myself, I opted for seats out of a Limited. Best decision I could have made. They are BY FAR the most comfortable seats I have ever sat in. It took a bit of re-wiring to bypass the memory module, but it's nothing an Eddie Bauer seat wiring harness couldn't fix for me!

I've moved the seat all around -- I just find the seat unbearable on long drives.
And if I don't take out my wallet and phone out of my pockets, it just makes things a lot worse.

I also noticed the EB head rest is way too far back -- and you are right about having to lean waaaay back to touch it.

I think I just need a stiffer seat.

My back aches on 3+ hour trips. Only when driving though. When riding as a passanger the seat seems alot more comfortable.
