Hey guys,

I just bought a set of brand new Gabriel shocks for my X over here in Germany. I received them a couple of days ago in the mail and couldnt resist to take one out of the box. They all have some sort of wire/string around them to keep them compressed. I undid the string and let one of them fully decompress. When compressed the shock back together by hand, the shock made a squirting sound, kinda like water coming out of a valve. Is this supposed to happen?
Thanx for any help/input in this matter....

Take care...

That should be normal. If you did that to the other 3 shocks(assuming you got 4) you would hear the same thing. I beleive it's just the oil and the valve in the shocks. All I know is that I have used Gabriels forever and they have all did that. :)

On a side note * this my friend is 800 posts!

When you go over a bump your shocks should make a slight whoosh/hiss sound. This is perfectly normal.
