Theft light flashing fast

I have tried disconnecting the battery. The theft light will flash fast for about a minute, then will flash once, then three times.

Turns over but will not start. This happened once before, the vehicle was left over night and the next day it started again, this was many months ago.

Believe the code is a bad key, will be calling locksmith

This is a picture of the ignition switch housing, notice the blue part that is broken. Is this important, it will require the part to be spliced or the entire harness to be replaced.

In speaking with a locksmith, he said he doesn't think it was the key but the rf device. I could test part of the device but not the complete unit
