well, my brother runs the old 12s and i've had one of the brand new ones briefly before passing it on to someone else.
my brother is happy with them and they hit very hard for what they are, however if your paying anywhere near even wholesale for them i think your better off with a few other things. honestly, i got them for my brother because i got the pair used for $200. for $330 the mtx 9500 only costs a bit more and will kill them, same with the x.. re sub or many many others that have much better sq as well
as my sig says, i have 2 of last years 12" l7's in a huge ported box. i probably should have gone another route with them, but w/ the kx1200.1 amp it destroys everything, ear drums, car alarms, etc. i cant even listen to them turned up 1/2 way w/o pain. im pretty happy with them though. i think i got them for $200/each somewhere online, and i think they're definatly worth it. not sure if id go up to 399/each. listen to the pros (expo5.0) =/
for one, the size is pretty rediclous, and impraticle. weight is another factor. if i were to do it again, id probably go with a smaller and/or sealed box for sq purposes. when that thing hits hard it can get pretty distorted. meh, highsight is 20/20 i guess.
all that aside, im very happy with the subs.
i paid about that or a little less actually for my 15s, but i don't think they can be purchased for that anywhere. I know i wouldn't sell them for that.
