Recently, I had to make some makeshift rocker panels so my 91 X would pass inspection. Some time after I was done I was leaving(my in-laws, where I was working on it) and realized I had no sound from any of my speakers. on the driverside the sheetmetal I used goes a little past the rear of the drivers door. the other side I only had to do a small amount at the rear of the rear door.

If I had shorted a wire with my repairs, would that cause me to have NO sound at all, or is it more likely that it's a simple case of loose speaker wires behind the stereo(not stock...some sony POS that came with the truck when I bought it)

I really don't see how replacing the rocker panels could have anything to do with your audio. If you have an aftermarket head unit pull it and check to see the wires ar all connected. Also on the "Premium audio" there is supposidly a amplifier mounted in the rear or somewhere....

its an xl so there is no premium audio. Did you have your music on when you were welding? Check the fuse.

ALWAYS disconnect both battery terminals when welding on a vehicle

I wasn't welding. I don't have the equipment or the skills to do that. Unfortunatly, I was reduced to drilling and driving sheet metal screws in to the frame rail and floor boards(where I couldn't get my drill at the right angle to do the rails). I think I may have either drilled into or screwed into some wires, and no, I didn't have any music playing while I was working.
