ive had my bilsteins for about a year, and i still love the way that they handle, but the ride quality is getting a lil old. its a pretty stiff ride, so ive been thinking about taking them off and selling them, and getting something else. dont get me wrong, these shocks are absolutely amazing, but the roads where i live are horrendous (metropolitan NYC area.) the only problem is, what else would i get? i want something a little softer in ride quality than the bilsteins, and ive never really gone for a ride in any X that didnt have bilsteins or stock shocks. i was thinking maybe monroe sensatracs or something? price is not really a concern. so what do you guys suggest?

thanks.

i dont have any experience, but from the forum and what ive heard.. monroe is probably the way to go.. and how much would u sell ur bilsteins for

can't get any better than Edelbrock IAS shocks. They are sweet as hell. Got them installed last year and it was like day and night compared to the stock shocks. Much more comfortable without the wallowy feeling the stocks gave. Reduced body lean, and the truck doesn't shudder when you hit a pot-hole or big bump in the road. I'm really impressed with them.

same thing with the bilsteins, but with my lower profile tires, the ride suffers, and im sure if i swap shocks, the ride will soften up.

jssong, i dont know how much id sell them for yet - i dont even know if im definitely going to do this, but it is close to the top of my list of "things to do to the X." if i decide to do it, ill keep your name in mind (though you might have to remind me), but dont get yoru hopes too high - id feel really bad if you get your heart set on them, and i decide to not do it.

i like my monroe sensatracs, but i think their too soft for me and my lowered truck

I think the Edelbrocks are perfect for what your looking for. They'll firm up right when you turn so you get better handling, and then if you hit a pothole they go soft so your truck doesn't react harshly or shudder. You get the firmness of the bilsteins for handling and no floaty motions, but they ride a lot softer at the same time.

I've been in a 4dr Explorer with Cobra rims and bilsteins, couldn't believe how harsh it was. He went for a ride in my truck and sold his bilsteins and got the Edelbrocks, he likes them a lot and says it handles better because of the way they firm up, and it rides a lot softer.

Thats just what your looking for. We got the shocks for somewhere between $300-$400 and they were only about $75 to have them installed.

really? most people who have the edelbrocks say that the way the shocks are supossed to adjust to driving conditions is complete BS, heh.

I have the Edelbrocks', and I do like them, but I was wondering if there might be something better. I don't feel any magic in them, I have 35K on them in two years. Good luck,
