Found a 2007 v6 limited 4x2 with 70K miles at a local dealership. Seems to be in really good condition. Planning to take it to have it checked out. Is there anything particular to pay attention to with this model year? They are asking $19,900 for it. If all checks out, then I am going to offer $17K. The only option it was missing that I wanted was the rear window didnt slide down, other than that seems to be fully loaded minus the 4x4.

Honestly, I think you should keep looking around for a better deal because back in Oct. 2009 I bought my 2007 XLT V8 4x4 with 23k miles for only $19k

Just a quick look on Carmax's website I found an 07 V8 4x4 limited w/ sliding back glass for $20,800, its not negotiable there but they don't sell bad trucks (my ST and previous truck was bought at Carmax)

I agree the price at this ford dealership is rather high with the mileage. Ive been looking around at other dealerships in this area and alot of the used cars/suv's seem kind of high in my opinion. I think $17K is a good offer...not sure they would take it but I will walk if they don't.

Is there anything else special about a "limited" model? The only thing I have noticed so far is the bumper is painted the same color as the rest of the truck.

I know the limited model comes with leather, but I not sure what other options come standard (since I have the XLT)

back to your original question about possible problems, the main things I've heard on this site are:
leaking third brake light (dont really know if you can check for that problem until it happens)
cracked radiator
cracked exhaust manifold (I think)
...I personally have not had any of these issues yet with 58k miles on mine, knocking on wood

and I'm not sure if or what you'll be towing with that v6 but I've heard alot of people say its underpowered, on the other hand my v8 can pull anything but I sacrifice gas mileage

Price is way too high.

My 2008 XLT with 37,000 mi. was 19,700 nearly a year ago. That was the Blue Book Price. It was at a Ford dealership. I could have gotten a Limited with 52,000 mi. for considerably less. I like the 2008 color better and the lower miles.

Just bought a 2007 Limited V8 4x4 with 40,000 miles July 8. Did a lot of searching and researching for 3 months before buying. Tried haggling with a local Ford dealer who refused to move more than $225 off their original published price. Truck was mint, every option available but had sat on their lot for 8 months at that time. I decided to continue searching and found an equally mint 07 Limited 4x4, certified used Ford for $3000 less in Ohio (8 hours away).

My advice is keep looking if the local guy doesn't take your offer and won't negotiate too far from his original price. Look on Autotrader.com or Cars.com. You can set your search for distance from your location, compare prices out there as well as mileage and options. Patience is key--there's better bargains out there than what you found if the local dealer doesn't see things your way.

Miles too high for the price.

I got my 07 ST XLT last August for $17,000 with 21,000 miles. Then again it's not the limited version.

differences between XLT and Limited for 07 were: body color molding around wheel wells, 18" wheels instead of 17", tonneau cover, more Limiteds had sliding back window, most (but not all) Limiteds had leather interior, chrome instead of black roof rails....not sure if thats all the differences.

Also, keep in mind that the EPA mileage ratings for the V8 are pretty much the same as for the V-6, due to the 6 speed auto in the V8 and the 5 speed auto in the V6. I do a lot of highway driving and my average with the V8 doing 70% highway and 30% is 18.8 mpg. That's with the stock V8, no CAI or any exhaust mods yet. 292 hp vs the 210 hp in the V6 with literally no mpg penalty was what I was looking for.

Early production '07s had a fixed rear window. Later on everything got a slider window regardless if it was a Limited or not.

Didn't that just begin for the 2008's?

I have a 2007 limited V8 4x4,my limited came with, moonroof, leather, heated leather seats, power pedals, message center, dual climate controls, has seat air bags, and the canopy airbags, rear sliding window, driver power seat, back up sensors, oem navigation with sat radio, tow package, the chrome package, side step bars, bed cover, traction control, tilt steering wheel, cruise control, heater and media steering wheel controls, this is all the crap my Limited came with, I`m not sure what is options on the limted and the Xlt trucks:D

Didn't that just begin for the 2008's?
No, just the first few months of '07 production. There are differences. For example my '08 is an early build (mfg 8/07) and has what I am told are the funky '07 rear door panels.

The rear window deal was the same on early '01 Sport Tracs too, they had a fixed rear window.

'07 ST XLT selling prices

I am likely going to sell my '07 XLT 4WD, and I agree the $19,900 price sjones mentioned is a bit high for a 2 wheel drive, also considering the miles. Mine has 58,000 on it at this point, and it looks great, the only issue is the seat foam problem I've posted about here. But I am going to correct that with a new seatback cover, and put it up for sale in the neighborhood of $18,500.

The one bought for $17K was a steal! Great deal IMHO. Everywhere I look they're asking from $18K up to $20 for 2007 models.

8 months later.....just picked up a 2007 Sport Trac limited. Silver. Took several months to find one that had what I wanted and for the price I wanted to pay. Will post pics soon.

New here

I just purchased my sport trac after looking at trucks both new and used for 5 months. It's a 2007 limited 4x4 with 77000 on it. Leather, power rear window, power driver seat, heated seats, satellite radio... I paid $16500 for it here in Kentucky.
I was going to post a pic but don't know how to!
