Thinking of reconditioned gearbox

I do alot of towing, caravan, horsebox and trailers.
The gearbox is ok for normal driving but seems a bit unhappy towing. Basically the torque convertor slips.
I've been looking at changing the Ex for something newer.
Against a £23,000 Nissan I was offered £200. [Ok I was dreaming]

I am thinking of taking it to STA transmissions in Aylesbury.
After trawling the Web they seem to be the best I've found.
They do all the latest updates, and all for £1100 +vat fitted.

Can't get close to replacing the Ex for that money. I've had her for 9 years now and can't part with it.

What do you reckon?

Hiya Kev to get it sorted finally would be nice mate ..................good price i was quoted 2 k ...

mines coming out again soon...new torque convertor (chattering and delayed drive )+ my transfer case went mad today giving big shudders to front wheels i recon the chains had it + it really crunches into 4wd also..might as well do the trans bands and clutches while its out ....gonna take a week i recon for me to do all..got all the bits thankfully ...nice holiday job ehh ...

I'd love to do mine myself just for the satisfaction.
I don't envy you doing yours yourself mate purly for the fact of getting the box out of the car, but I do envy you for getting stuck in and finding out how things work by taking it apart yourself.
