Third row electric seat motors run but seats don't move. Just bought unit as is.HELP

Just purchased my 2006 Explorer AS IS from a dealer 200 miles from me. The power third row seats not working.Dealer has been no help. The motors are running when buttons are pushed but seats will not move. One seat is up and one seat is down. Neither one will move. Can't physically move them. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated .
