As the title says, I've had a funky "vinegar" like smell coming from a mystery area. (i've noticed during heavy rain that my hatch will drip very slowly, I assume it is coming from the 3rd brake light seal) I finally had a nice day off to investigate and I go to pull the third row seat bottom out (those two little clips are all that holds it in...) and saw that i had some funky slat like build up/corrosion under there and that my stitching holding the individual panels that make up the seat cover were literally dissolving....

What would cause this? has anyone else run into a leak/corrosion/seat melting issue?

My wife says I have seat melting issues.

But I think it's unrelated to your problem.

The seat bottom is out, and the smell immediately went away. It is now dominating my garage... gross... pictures soon...
