You can't imagine what it's like looking for another Explorer where I live. I saw this add and had to call the guy. Thankfully he's willing to go down to 2000 but no lower, lmao...... Good luck with this one..... Just had to share the laugh...

That's not even worth $800..

You can tell by all the filth on the engine that it was a well maintained machine.

yeah i agree! that guy is out of his mind for that price lol

It probably was worth what he's asking before he got hit; unfortunately that reality hasn't sunk in yet. He/she should probably give the truck a good cleaning inside and out then take new pictures. Like my father always said, you're selling silver but they're buying tin

koda2000, the guy wanting $9000 for that Explorer must be drunk. Although the 5.0L and 5 speed are nice, that's a lot of fabrication work for a 16-year old truck. He'll never get his money back out of that truck.

The $1900 '98 is actually not a bad starting point. You could probably get him into the $1300-1500 range, or lower if you can spot some other issues.

those were my points exactly.

That guys wacked on 9 grand but I wouldn't mind driving it. I'd give him 3 if everything was together good.

ridiculous asking price not withstanding, the workmanship is the big question. cool if do well, a disaster if done sloppily.

Lol in Syracuse, thats by me, in fact your about half hour-40mins away from me if your in Watertown. I wouldn't buy a explorer of these years in Syracuse now. Surprised there isn't more rust

What part are you from? I'm about 20 min south of Watertown. I haven't been able to find anything lately that isn't a rust bucket. I'm considering driving down to Jersey this summer and bringing one home.

I'm about 20mins south from Watertown which is about Camden roughly, and about 15mins east lol

I swear I'm never buying another vehicle in the rust belt again. I heard Pennsylvania doesn't use salt, so there or lower. My explorer is going to hell with rust in the past 3years.

Mud is covering rust and other side is way worse

Here's a real pretty one and he knows he's getting no where near what he's asking. I don't know what shape your engine and tranny are in but I'm betting 800 cash would buy this one.... I think I know where every explorer there is for sale around here, lol. And they're all junk....

Lol I bought mine right past Lowville on the side of the Black river little over 5years ago.
I swear I get mad everytime I see a explorer around here around 2nd gen. with no rust and I say must be a southern vehicle.

I guess the point is, these things are cheap in my neck of the woods (an hour from the NY line) pulled up over 100 listings with pictures doing a search of 2nd gen trucks soccer moms got to have the latest and greatest
