I had the same thought about these clowns being a decoy - how stupid can you be? running a toll?

I acn tell you this though - I am about 40 miles from the scene and traffic is all screwed up. No real easy way to get to Miami from here right now. My hope is these guys are for real and they are tied to Iraw or Bin Laden - then let them sing for their lives...

This crap is driving me nuts.

I agree.. 2 things about this confuse me..

1. they were talking IN ENGLISH in the shoneys... about what they were doing. wtf??
2. they had switched plates, (just confirmed, some family named moondo's tags from IL, tags were switched), ran a toll booth, and actually had an explosive in the car

someone on irc suggested just a sec ago that perhaps these people are TRYING to bring attention to this car deal to try and do something esle in the country... I disagree.. our country isn't like that. if you bring about a security level. people start lookin over their shoulders everywhere..

taxxman I agree and thought the same about what if they are decoys. In my head, my thoughts went to, "dang, if everyone is watching these yahoos, who knows what some other guy, who isnt running a toll both, is out there about to do." Not to say Im expecting, or fearing something will happen, I pray it wont, but in reality, we never know what is goin down.
Also, I just saw this thread just to life with like 5 or 6 posts in a minutes time. haha.

WHat I am confused on is that they claim to have detonated something (the bomb squad) but later in the story on the CNN site it says they haven't found anything yet??

Dave, from what I understand, earlier today they used a water cannon to blow up a bag that had wires coming out of it... this was done as a precaution. It ended up to be a bag of medical supplies, which falls into the "med student" explanation.

hopefully this was just a big missunderstanding. But if they aren't cooperating, they must be up to something. Either way if what they said is true, they should be publicly tortured. Put it on pay-per-view and make some money off of it

unfortunately, any hopes of getting news coverage of the florida thing is nill now here in Houston. We just had a plant explosion (unrelated to terrorist from what we are hearing) south of Houston itself. So obviously our news coverage is directed on the plastic chemical plant that is going on. Ill let yall know what happens with that as it unfolds as well...

yeh that was crazy. It was all over the news last night, and when I walked in my mom told me, I was like what?? About them running a toll booth, why in the hell would they do that knowing they were being tracked down in a black Honda and the Maxima. It was on the radio and tv again this whole morning.

as far as our situation goes with the explosion, it was a accident with some leaking ammonium. 4 minor injuries, but other than that, just property damage, not personal injury. crazy. more info on the explosion at www.abc13.com
