Don't do that. Sell the D60 then get a 9" rear axle from an old big boy Bronco or F150 and rock out.

If you were closer I'd trade you a rear nine inch for it.

I have finally acquired my full length axles for my '91 but i have only one problem. The rear is a dana 60 8 lug and the front is a dana 44 5 lug. Any suggestions on what to do?

If you plan on never going much bigger then 35's sell the 60 and get a 9". If you plan on going bigger or wheeling hard keep the 60 and get a 60 for the front.

OR, just swap the d44 knuckles and brakes for the d44HD 8-lug parts and keep the 60 rear.

Seriously? 35s on a 9"?? I know plenty people running 40+ on 9s. Easy to upgrade them to be as strong as you want.

But I doubt you know plenty of people who run 40+ on the D-44 without destroying them. That's what he was saying: Sure, the 9" could take it no problem.

Dana 60 parts (lockers ect ect) are pricey compared to a 9" $.02

What tires are you planning on running? The 60 is hella expensive to build. If you're gonna run big meat, then like it was said, keep it and find another for the front, but if you keep the 44, you're never going to need the strength of the 60.

Depending on how you drive and mindset 38's will and will not hold up. I seen many people on here who run 35's with the D44 and pretty sure I've seen some guys on here run 37's with the D44. 38's may be to big unless you upgrade shafts joints and all that. Even than it probably still depends on your driving. I'm sure someone on here will chime in with more knowledge than myself.

i plan on running 38s. thats my goal.

Sell the d44 front and get a d60 front. Do it right the first time and save some money in the long run.

Keep the 60 rear.
