But your not going to want the 4406, you will need the 13-54 I believe. Theres a junkyard local to me with a manual shift 13-54 from a 98 ranger in stock for $300, FYI....

What about those that have an AWD 3gen and would like to swap out their transfer case for a true 4x4 TC w/ shifter.

Do you think a 4x4 TC w/ shift lever from a 2gen 5R55E would be able to bolt up to the back of a 3gen 5R55W?

I ask this because I cannot seem to find any 4x4 transfer cases with shift levers for the 3gen explorers. Did ford not offer a manual transfer case in the 3gen?

no they did not offer that i am not sure for the 3rd gens what will fit
