1998 Limited V8 2WD
98 Limited - center console Heat A/C Defrost panel below the radio. The bulbs for the control buttons are in a very small gray twist in /out socket, the bulb is about the size of a grain of wheat. What is the bulb number and where can I get them??

Parts house does not have any reference to them and Ford dealer couldn't find any info either!!!:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

even though the bulbs are there and look like they can be changed, they may not be offered as a replacement part. now i dont know this for sure, but its a possibility, they may want you to buy the whole control asm. If i were you, i would pull off the gauges and check and see if any of those bulbs match the ones in the ac control head. if they do, get those and replace em with those, they may just not be labled in the parts cataloge

edit: i just checked alldata and it shows a service procedure for replacing the bulbs but does not list any part numbers, so they are intended to be replaced but probably just arent listed, like i said, pull the cluster and see if you can match em up

My local Napa has matched up some small bulbs for me before. I had some small twist-in sockets on my Chevy truck like you describe and I found it helpfull to put a short piece of heatshrink tubing over the old bulbs and (gently) remove them from the socket with a pliers. I'm not sure if yours is the same though...

remove six screws and snap off the face plate is all it takes to get to the bulbs
thanks BTW

My lights also burnt out down there if we are talking about the same spot. Also on the left hand side of my sterring wheel the two buttons have burnt out lights too. Anyone know how I would go about replacing those.
