Scott,

If you don't mind me asking, what is a Vortech "huffer"? is that the supercharger? If you do have the supercharger, definately go with the 66mm Throttle body. However, I would recommend ordering the BBK Throttle body from a real store, not online. The reason is they backorder frequently, and stores get the new stock faster than online resellers.

I only have experience with the BBK TB, but the kit came with everything I needed, including very explicit instructions. Some people say 66mm is too big, but I have had no problems, and you seem to have all the mods that I do, so you should flow enough air to make use of the larger size. The new TB gave me a pretty good kick compared to before, and the reaction time of the engine decreased dramatically.

Good luck!

yep

that's the supercharger. I have seen dyno results where larger tb's decrease power but I could benefit from one since I'm forcefeeding mine.

?

anyone know of one that is larger than 66mm?

A larger one?
I don't think I've seen one. Vanir might be able to make you one, or you could see if you could modify one from another vehicle. I really don't think you need larger, though. The BBK 66mm one is what they use with their supercharger. Besides, your sig doesn't mention headers...if you don't have higher flowing headers, all that air isn't able to exit efficiently. >>>I recommend also getting headers if you don't have them.

Vanir had three larger TB's one is 70 and the other two are 75 and 77 respectively. I would recommend the larger TB's, if you really have a supercharger b/c it will definitely provide better results. The cost downfall is that you will need larger fuel injectors, but you may have already purchased them when you installed the vortech. The big injectors will also help out with the power.

I haven't been back to the site

but if I remember correctly the sizes you listed were for MAF sensors. I'll check anyway though

Does having the Vortech supercharger (which forces more air into the combustion chambers) increase the compression ratio sufficiently such that you need to use higher octane gasoline to prevent pre-ignition knock? Thanks. Mike with 91 XLT 4x4 in Seattle.

Hi ya! how do you like the supercharger? When does the power kick in? Hmmm... anyways... the 66mm TB is already bigger than the stock upper intake. You have to have a shop open up the intake to fully take advantage of the TB. I have heard of 66 being to big for stockers... but with my mods, I havent had a bit of trouble. I take off alot faster from the line now... :) but if you dont have them... definatly go for the headers first.

BTW I ordered my TB from Truck Performance.com and the TB was on backorder... but they got it to me in a resonable amount of time. And I love it! :)

Sorry.....

You're talking apples and I'm talking oranges. Yeah the numbers I stated where for the MAS sensor as opposed to the TB. The largest size is the 66mm and I have the BBK. You will expect to achieve a better throttle response - no real gain in hp with a relatively stock engine, but with your vortech, you may see some nice gains.
