Where did you find them? What is the bore? Price?

aldive swears the spacer, along with many other mods combined, are the reason he gets 30+mpg from his Gen 2 X.

I have replaced my throttle body with a BBK. It only takes about 20 minutes so adding a spacer would probably take about 10 min.

its from a place called summitracing.com they are about a $100 but then againcant put a price on hp, what did you say you put on yours? the intake it self?

The throtttle body that the spacer will bolt up to. http://proficientperformance.com/Me...bk_throttle_body_ford_truck_suv&Store_Code=PP

I recommend you do the throttle body before the spacer but there are a ton of mods to increase performance.

I have upgraded the complete air intake system, swiss cheese air box, K&N drop in filter, Pro M MAFS (70mm) and the BBK throttle body. I also have replaced the exhaust from the Cat back.

All have made a significant improvement in performance and sound. Next is an Apten chip through the pending Group Buy on the 17th. A spacer would round things out nicely.
:)

Many people have used these with out much success they dont do a whole lot on our trucks due to the design of the intake.

so is it worth it doug? i mean have you done it your self?

I have not done it myself, i have seen all the negative feedback and never really felt the need to buy one. do a search on the board for throttle body spacer most people don't like them. These devices that swirl the intake air for more complete complete combustion dont seem to work well on most fuel injected motors. Some of them actually case you to loose power in certain RPM ranges.

Don't confuse them

Don't confuse a throttle body spacer with the "tornado" type device. The spacer will increase the volume of the upper intake plenum. It may have a swirl inducer machined into the bore but swirling the incoming air is not the primary function.

Check aldive's 'my quest for 30' thread. It is a very long thread but worth reading. Ask him if it is worth it.

I know the difference between the tornado and the TB spacer and in my opinion and that of others they offer no gain. So for Aldive seems to be the only one to claim 30mpg.

Anybody know where to get a spacer for a 03 xlt with the 4.6L V8? The only one I have found is the Motorvator TBS...I haven't seen anything about that one on this board anybody have any info on it?

get a bigger throttle body itself before a spacer

most ppl think that a $100 tbs is gonna give them 20+ hp for there suv and it wont. it is made prmarily for better gas millge so if it gives you 2-5 mpg more then i think it does very well for the price. im paying 1.90 for gas and only get 2-14 mpg and i hust bought a tbs and installing it today so if i get 3mpg more then ill be happy as hell. it will save me money in the long run and thats worth it to me.

well if i am thinking right a new throttle body will give better gas and hp+ right?? i was thinking of getting the bbk 66mm, any feed back on that?? yea i have a 94xlt so i am kinda putting alot of thought into it!! if only i had the space i could have an extra 91xlt for only $300 thats insane!! it has a brand new engine sitting in it!! but the wire harness is bad or something i could use so many parts off that thing but owell!!! so more feed back on tbs?

well i just finished putting my tbs in. i will let yall know the diff on gas milage i took it for a spin and noticed monimal hp increase but thats what i expected.

yea but hows your gas milage?? i have to get new tires!! :fart: my front wore out really fast but my rears are to far behind!!

you might try rotating you tires. that help them wear even.

the funny thing about my tires is that they are kinda an all terrain tire also a 100,000mile tires i only got to put about maybe 10 or 15,000 on them, and thats off course with some playing around but still they did not last that long!!!
