I was backing out of a spot the other day and I felt a thump while backing up and the wheel turned all the way. It's been happening quite often lately. Any idea what this could be? Thanks

Maybe it is your CV joint/s up front. I get a thump now and then when I corner my wheels all the way then drive to make a u-turn.

I agree... if his is 4x4...Mine will turn on the auto 4x4 when turning sharp as the speed of the inside wheels is different from the outside wheels so the truck things they are slipping and engages 4x4 which in turn locks all wheels. Because they all cant turn at the same speed you'll get a thump or hop.

If its 4x4 I would not worry, just try not to turn till the steering locks, just back off a little bit.

If its a 2wd.. id need to think more about that...

It is a 4x4. So, I guess its nothing to worry about.

I would not worry about it..Just dont turn so sharp... in other words turn till the wheel almost locks but no further when parking. Apply light gas.
