Ticking noise from front end

I have a 93 XLT. This problem just started today. Whenever I am in drive but stopped, like I would be at a red light, a steady ticking noise starts up, coming from somewhere in my front end. Any ideas as to what it could be? I am going to take my truck somewhere monday morning to have it checked. I haven't noticed any issues with drivability. Sorry for the minute amount of information.

Could be a lotI wouldn't have expected thyat to tick but replaced it and the noise stopped.

Well, I drove my Ex a bit more this morning and realized it wasn't a ticking noise so much as a rattling, like something against a piece of metal...sound familiar?
Upon further inspection, I narrowed it down to the heat shield on my front cat : The back one fell off a while ago, now I guess the front one will have to come off.
