We use a number of aerostars in our catering business, I maintain them all but I am stymied on this one. 1995 2wd 3.0...I need to replace the tie rods- bad inner ends. Passenger side, popped off the outer end, removed the inner boot and trying to loosen the inner end..won't budge..notice what appears to be a rolled steel pin hole..I can get a nail punch into the hole, but for the life of me I only have a few inches of clearance to put some force on the punch. I made some calls and got different answers- it's a nylon pin so melt it out- it's a rolled steel pin- and then I saw some sources that said it was a screw-in, needing a 3/32 Allen wrench...what is the truth?
If I could just get more clearance I could hammer the sucker out from the front, but the inner shaft won't turn...or will it?
I really could use some suggestions on this, ASAP
Thanks
