tie rods

i have a thumping sound from passenger front sie i thought it was tires but still hear it . could this be that i am getting some play from tie rods .If so should i replace inner +outer or both? :

Could be the tie rods or the steering rack.

Welcome to this forum! Any worn bushing, ball joint, CV joint, tie rod, bearing, shock, or universal joint will cause a squeek, pop, etc. Take the wheels off, and look at all of these parts. It could be a combination of several things contributing to this noise.

You really need to take this to a good shop that does front end work.
With that said you can allways jack it up and then grab the tire and place your hands on top and bottom and try to move it back and forth and then do it from side to side. Allso grab all connecting rods and give a good shake. You might just find the culprit.
I just bought all new Moog tie rod ends for my B11 project.
Might also post whatever you found and how it got fixed for future searches.
